COLOMBO: The Deputy Minister of Policy Planning and Economic Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva announced that a pension Scheme will be introduced to all workers in the country under Prime Minister Ranil Wickramesinghe’s administration.
He said the scheme will come into place after the 100-day programme.
De Silva told reporters here that it will be a key task of the new government.
“We will be provide a pension to all workers. We are also seeking for higher salaries and pension scheme for the private sector workers as well.”
De Silva said the new government would also be announcing salary reviews for government servants.
“It will be the highest ever salary increase for the government servants. We can do this by eliminating unnecessary expenditure and wastage.
“There is no need for the government to either to print notes or to borrow money,” said De Silva.
