NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government was making all efforts to stop infiltration from across the border but admitted it would take some time.
Talking to reporters after a function in Pratapgarh in Rajasthan, Singh said it was impossible to stop infiltration as the border with Pakistan has not been fenced completely.
“You must have noticed that when Pakistan started firing at India-Pakistan border, the BSF personnel gave a befitting reply.
“But it will take some more years before infiltration from across the border is stopped completely because the border is porous.
“This work should have been done a lot earlier. We’ll make sure that infiltration does not happen. But it will take time,” said Singh.
There have been several incidents of infiltration and firing across the line of control in recent times. – From DNA
